Samar Update - The Philippines
Last Year we were able to purchase a rice field for the ‘Miracle Haven Children’s Home’. The rice fields and Fish ponds are aimed at a level of self sufficiency which will allow us to increase the quality of diet in our home, as well as allowing us to provide more care to the widows and children without having to increase sponsorship levels.
Here are pictures of the Children drying the first harvest. This rice will assist with supplementing the food cost in the home, as well as being distributed to the poor in the surrounding villages.
The southern Philippines had 17 typhoons pass through last season, however the crop was still enough for the needs...
We have just purchased a second field for rice and vegetable gardens, the first crops should go in the ground in the next few months.
Our fish ponds are now complete. The home will be able to produce several thousand fish at a time.
Construction works on the fish ponds…
OUR NEW JUNIOR SCHOOL is being built. This is a great outreach as we will have access to the homes of 120 students, mostly from un-churched backgrounds.

The Facility must be open for the beginning of the school year in July. We have begun the work of renovating the old buildings however need help with finances for the re-build and fit out. We estimate that it will cost 30,000 dollars to complete everything… Please contact us if there is any way you can help…
Demolition works are nearly complete...
Plans for the renovated facility...
